Enhancing Global Reach: Almar Water Solutions’ Key Agreements in the Asia-Pacific

  • Almar Water Solutions’ expansion through strategic partnerships with Aqualyng and Moya Indonesia

As the CEO of Almar Water Solutions, I am delighted to share our company’s recent strategic advancements, marked by the signing of two key agreements with Aqualyng and Moya Indonesia. These agreements represent a significant milestone in our mission to expand our global presence and provide innovative and sustainable solutions in the water sector.

Introduction to the Agreements

Almar Water Solutions has recently signed two strategic agreements that highlight our international expansion efforts. The first agreement is with Aqualyng, a fully integrated water platform with notable operations in Australia and Singapore. Aqualyng will not only enhance our operational capacity in Australia but also serve as our flagship company to expand our operations throughout the Asia-Pacific region.

The second agreement is with Moya Indonesia, an invaluable partner in the water sector in the Asia-Pacific region. This partnership allows us to acquire a 50% stake in some of their operations, starting with the acquisition of 50% of Obor Infrastructure, a key player in the Indonesian water market.

These agreements are more than just business deals; they are pivotal to our strategic vision and long-term growth. Here are some reflections on why these moves are crucial for Almar Water Solutions:

Almar Water Solutions’ strategic plan progresses:

Our strategic plan for expansion in the Asia-Pacific region is effectively taking shape. The collaboration with Moya Indonesia provides us with a strong foothold in the Asia-Pacific water market. Through this agreement, we have acquired a 50% stake in Obor Infrastructure in Indonesia, strengthening our presence and operational capabilities in the region.

  • Coverage of potable water in Indonesia and the Asia-Pacific region:

Indonesia faces a significant challenge in terms of potable water coverage. According to UNICEF, 91% of households in Indonesia have access to improved drinking water, but only 11.8% have access to safely managed drinking water (UNICEF) (ANTARA News). This discrepancy underscores the urgent need for infrastructure improvements and innovative solutions in water management. In the broader Asia-Pacific region, the average coverage of potable water is around 92%, but the treatment of wastewater remains a critical area with much potential for development.

The water market in Asia-Pacific is expected to grow significantly, driven by increasing population, urbanization, and industrialization. According to the Asian Development Bank, 1.5 billion people in rural areas and 600 million more in urban areas still lack adequate water supply and sanitation. This presents both a challenge and an opportunity for companies like ours to provide essential services and infrastructure.

In Australia, the market for water and wastewater treatment is robust, with a focus on addressing the needs of both municipal and industrial sectors. The demand for water management solutions is expected to grow as the country deals with water scarcity and the need for sustainable practices (Expert Market Research).

  • Industrial water as an important niche:

The Asia-Pacific region is home to a vast number of industries, with over 1.2 million industrial facilities (Mordor Intelligence) requiring enormous volumes of water for their production processes. Industrial wastewater treatment is crucial for ensuring environmental sustainability. Our acquisition of Aqualyng strategically positions us to address this market and offer advanced industrial water treatment solutions.

  • Development of Greenfield and Brownfield Projects:

Our vision includes developing both greenfield (new projects) and brownfield (rehabilitation of existing facilities) projects in new geographies. We aim to expand our regional services and continue offering our outsourcing model for the industry, enabling our clients to optimize their operations and focus on their core business.

These strategic moves are also integral to Almar Water Solutions’ organic growth. Through key partnerships and strategic acquisitions, we are strengthening our position in the global water market and expanding our portfolio of services and solutions.

  • Consolidation as a Leader in Customized Projects:

After completing the financial close of our last two Industrial projects, Centinela in Chile (Antofagasta Minerals) and Zuluf in Saudi Arabia (Saudi Aramco), Almar Water Solutions solidifies its position as a leader in customized projects that meet all water market needs. These projects are a testament to our ability to provide tailored solutions addressing our clients’ specific challenges, positioning us as a reliable and innovative partner in the water sector. Aqualyng will reinforce our position in Asia Pacific to continue industrial projects in the region.

In summary, the agreements with Moya Indonesia and Aqualyng are strategic steps that bolster our presence in the Asia-Pacific region and enhance our operational and service capabilities. I am immensely grateful for the hard work and dedication of the entire Almar Water Solutions team and excited about the opportunities these agreements will bring in the future.
